The Hanna Chromium 6 Low Range Checker (HI749) tests for the presence of Chromium 6 (Hexavalent Chromium) in concentrations within the range of 0 to 300 ppb with an accuracy of ±3 ppb in samples such as drinking water and wastewater. With a digital readout, Hanna Checkers provide greater measurement accuracy when compared with chemical test kits that rely on human perception of color.

The HI749 Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) provides a simple, accurate and cost-effective way to measure chromium VI. Due to its corrosion-resistant properties, hexavalent chromium plays an important part in the plating industry and cooling towers. However, due to its toxic and carcinogenic nature, chromium 6 must be must be sufficiently treated prior to wastewater discharge. Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI749 provides quick, accurate results in four easy steps.
